Shah Turkan misleads the Sultan by manipulating Qutub Begum's letter. Razia is mistreated by her captors. Shah Turkan anticipates Razia's plan to go to Ghazni. She hires an assassin, Zangoora, to kill Razia. Rukn-ud-din questions Zangoora's credibility, but is spellbound by the assassin's skills. Razia, meanwhile, is not worried about her life.
